GAME OF THRONES: HOUSE OF THE DRAGON Trailer Dropped

HOUSE OF THE DRAGON is a prequel to GAME OF THRONES based on George R. R. Martin’s 2018 novel Fire & Blood. The 10-episode series will chronicle the rise and the downfall of the Targaryens, who is the only family of dragonlords to survive the Doom of Valyria. It will take place 300 years before the events of GAME OF THRONES, and dramatizes the Targaryen civil war, known as the “Dance of the Dragons.”

House of the Dragon will star BAFTA winner Paddy Considine as King Viserys I, Emmy-nominated actor Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower and Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen.

GAME OF THRONES composer Ramin Djawadi returns to Westeros to score the new series, which is scheduled to premiere on August 21, 2022.
