WHAT IF…? Composer Laura Karpman Scores Marvel’s Latest Series, MS. MARVEL
Variety reports that Laura Karpman has composed the score for MS. MARVEL, which debuts on Disney + on June 8. MS. MARVEL is an upcoming television miniseries created by Bisha K. Ali, based on the Marvel Comics featuring the character Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel. It is intended to be the seventh television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) produced by Marvel Studios, sharing continuity with the films of the franchise.
In the article by by Jazz Tangcay posted in Variety today , Karpman said “I am thrilled to be a part of a wonderfully diverse team that is bringing Kamala Khan off the pages of her comic book and into your homes this June. She is an epic superhero hailing from a rich musical heritage that was a joy to be immersed in.”
Iman Vellani stars as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, a New Jersey teen who discovers she has polymorphous powers. The series will consist of six episodes, and will be part of Phase Four of the MCU. The series will also serve as set-up for the film THE MARVELS (2023), in which Vellani will reprise her role as Khan along with additional cast members from the series.
Karpman is also set to score THE MARVELS.
