Japanese Horror Score CURSE OF THE DOG GOD Soundtrack CD

The 1977 Japanese occult horror score to INUGAMI NO TATARI (CURSE OF THE DOG GOD) has been given a premiere release by the Japanese CD label Cinema-KAN. The music, by acclaimed composer Shunsuke Kikuchi, is described as featuring a fusion of Japanese indigenous rhythm and the composer’s own musical designs.

INUGAMI NO TATARI was written and directed by Shun’ya Itô (FEMALE PRISONER #701: SCORPION, YÛKAI HÔDÔ, HAKUJASHO [WHITE SNAKE ENCHANTMENT]), and is about a man looking to mine uranium in a rural Japanese village who has the wicked curse of the Dog God set upon him. Shunsuke Kikuchi (1931-2021) was a legend in the Japanese music world who scored more than 260 films and television shows since 1961. He was especially known for such acclaimed ghost and horror film scores as  THE SNAKE GIRL AND THE SILVER-HAIRED WITCH, GOKE BODY SNATCHER FROM HELL, GAMERA VS. GUIRON/JIGER/ZIGRA, FEMALE PRISONER #701: SCORPION, several KAMEN RIDER TV series, GRANDIZER, DRAGON BALL franchise, many RED DEAD WAGON TV films, and much more.
